Cyprus lies in the Eastern Mediterranean and is a land of stunning natural beauty and rich heritage. Mandria, Nr Paphos

The village Mandria is a Turkish/cypriot village of the province of Paphos, roughly 13 kilometers southeasterly of the city of Paphos. The village Mandria is built in the coastal plain of Paphos, at an average altitude of 22 meters. The landscape of village has a very small bent towards the sea that washes its southern department. At the Eastern borders of the village flows the river Xeros where afterwards, the dam of Asprokremmos was manufactured. The village Mandria accepts a medium annual rainfall of about 430 millimeters.

At the village they are cultivated the citrus fruits mainly lemons, oranges and “klementinia”), the vines of table varieties, fruit trees (bananas, avocado and pear-trees), pistachio-nut, the beans, the cereals, the plants used as animal food and a few olives. Is cultivated also a big variety of vegetables, that includes potatoes, carrots, watermelons, melons, onions, beetroots, peas, cucumbers, tomatoes and other.

Golf.

Aphrodite Hills golf course is outstanding. Designed by Cabell Robinson (responsible for Valderama among others) with numerous different tees it provides a fair test for pros and club golfers alike. In the next valley is the Secret Valley golf course which though less prestigious is a good scenic course with a lovely club house. Coast/BeachThe Aphrodite Hills Beach is just 20 mins drive away at Avdimou, a shuttle bus service runs form main hotel. The beach is secluded and provides a restaurant with sun beds for hire. Water sports available at Pissouri Beach 15 minutes drive – water ski, wakeboard, kite surf, jet ski and sail. Lessons are available through Columbia Water Sports.
There are many beaches close by including Aphrodite’s Rock, Avdimou beach and Kourion beach.

Skiing
It is possible to ski or toboggan on Mount Olympus from January to March. There are four runs of about 200m in Sun Valley and five longer more demanding runs on the North face. Cross country skiing is also possible and equipment can be hired in Sun Valley. Mount Olympus is 3km from the Troodos hill resort and an hour’s drive from Limassol.

Tennis
Just a short walk brings you to an excellent tennis complex consisting of a new clubhouse five hard courts and four red shale courts. These can be booked for a very reasonable fee and are all floodlit. A range of fully qualified coaches are also available.

SPA
The Spa has won many awards for the quality of the treatments offered not to mention its signature outdoor infinity pool providing stunning views of the Mediterranean. There is a large staff to provide hydrotherapy massage and the full range of treatments. Alongside the SPA is a fully equipped GYM with an extensive range of exercise equipment, weights and if required personal training

Kouklia, Nr Paphos

Kouklia is a village of the district of Pafos and lies at a distance of about 16 kilometers from the city of Pafos. It is built at an average altitude of 85 meters in the coastal plain of Pafos, north of the central highway of Limassol – Pafos, where -according to mythology -the goddess of Beauty and Love, Aphrodite, emerged. Kouklia receives an average annual rainfall of about 420 millimeters; grapevines (wine-making and table grape varieties), bananas, all sorts of citrus fruits, avocados, apricot, kiwis, olives, locust beans, legumes, peanuts, and a large variety of vegetables are cultivated upon its fertile land.

This village has a great selection of local tavernas where visitors can eat & drink at inexpensive rates and in the summer months holds the traditional Cyprus Nights , every Thursday, with live music & dancing, a great atmosphere & hugely popular so get there early!

Latchi & Polis 

Latchi Beach
Location: Latchi – Polis Area – Paphos District – Cyprus
This lovely pebble beach with beautiful mountain scenery is located close to Latchi fishing harbour, in Polis area. The water in the sea at Latchi beach is always crystal clear.

Yiannakis Beach
Location: Polis Area – Paphos District – Cyprus
This beach is simply a beautiful one with some stunning views and is definitely worth a visit when you are visiting the island. To reach this beach you travel down the road leading to the Baths of Aphrodite in Latchi, a spectacular setting. Once you have reached Yiannakis Beach you will see fantastic views of the Akamas peninsula to the west and Pomos point to the east. The waters are very clear and superb for snorkeling and other water sports. Dotted along the coastline are also a number of restaurants and bars for you to taste the local cuisine.

Polis is located North West of the region of Pafos at a 30 minute distance from the town of Pafos, 45 minutes from Pafos airport and less than 2 hours away from Larnaca airport.

The Polis / Latchi area

Paphos is the new jewel in the crown for golfers seeking golf breaks in the warmth of the eastern Mediterranean. It offers golfers challenging world class championship courses, warm hospitality and almost year round sunshine. There are two 18 hole golf courses to choose from. Tsada Golf Club which is just 20 minutes from Paphos town, on an elevated position 550 meters above sea level to ensure cool breezes during the summer months. It plays to a par 72 and measures 6,060 meters. The Secret Valley Golf Club is 18 kilometers east of Paphos lying within a scenic valley and offers panoramic views. It plays to a par 72 and measures 6,120 meters. The very newest addition is the luxurious Aphrodite Hills it plays to par 70 and with a course length of 6,299 meters.

Latchi beach is fab! The spectacular sandy beach at Lara Bay famous for its turtle nesting is around a 40 minute’s drive from Paphos. Latchi beach is a great day out and a superb selection of local fish tavernas to feast upon.

Area Information There are local shops and some great fish restaurants in Latchi Mariner, boat trips, water-sports readily accessible. There are various large supermarkets, shops and banks within 10 minutes by car in Polis. Latchi & Paphos offers a good selection of nightlife for young and old, from cafes, restaurants, bars & night clubs.

Golf  
Tsada Golf Course a top quality 18 holes golf course with fantastic views and challenging holes, Minthis Hills Golf Club is now newly refurbished is set in the grounds of an ancient monastery and is a 30 minute drive. The course is a par 72 and lies in a gentle and picturesque valley with views towards the Troodos Mountains.
We also have the Prestigious Aphrodite Golf Course (55 mins away) also Secret Valley Golf Course are on the doorstep offering super golfing and club house facilities etc.
The new Nick Faldo Golf Course Elea in Geroskipou is now open which is just a 50 minute drive away.

Skiing
Ski-ing is available at Troodos Mountains about 2hr drive away. Beautiful scenic route with super villages on the way.
Ypu will pass the little village of Droushia (Drouseia) has a population of 404. Set on the high ground of the Laona plateau, it is 27km from Paphos and 10km from Polis.
From Droushia the views are stunning – you can see all the way across to the Troodos mountains and, looking north you can see Chrysochou Bay and the seaside towns of Latchi and Polis. Looking west, there are stunning views of the Akamas Peninsula with many huge landforms scattered in between. Due to its altitude, Droushia is refreshed by a cool breeze coming from the Akamas. In fact, the name Droushia means ‘cool and fresh’ in Greek.
Within around half a mile in Droushia there are tavernas and supermarkets with many more available 10 minutes away in Polis.

Polis Chrysochous
Polis is the principal town for the region, this traditional town, huddled around a pedestrianized square is a great place to browse the many shops, enjoy a coffee watching the world pass by or dine at any of the wide selection of restaurants, tavernas and cafes which radiate out from the centre.
The seaside resort of Latchi, with its well-known sea food tavernas is only a few minutes drive from Polis, and here you will find an array of inviting sea-front tavernas with a superb selection of fresh fish and seafood served daily.
Beyond Latchi you will find the well-known ‘Baths of Aphrodite’ and for the more adventurous explorer the protected Akamas Peninsular with its many walking trails.
Polis and its neighbouring villages count bowling, go-karting, fishing, cycling, water-sports and scuba diving amongst the many activities on offer to visitors.
